Calhoun Baptist Church News April 6, 2014~

Rev. David Van Bebber, Pastor:

Our Song Leader, Sister Heather Hollinger and the Choir sang with the congregation in an opening song called “I Stand in the Presence”. Then  Brother David offered  prayer with thanksgiving and welcomed everyone to worship the Lord with him.

The reading of the Word was from the book of Luke Ch. 16:1-9 NIV

We are still learning more about the “Parables of Jesus”. This one is about the “Unjust Steward”.

When you read this scripture you will find a parable that is teaching you how not to act in this life, but to build your hopes and plans on things that are eternal. We should find ourselves  using our  talents and opportunities which God has given us to plan on things that are not only temporal. In other words build your hopes upon things not of this world, but for Eternity. Walk as children of Light! Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and we must remember what Jesus has done for all of us.
