Calhoun Baptist Church News August 29, 2014~

It has been only a year ago that Brother David brought Sister Valerie to meet us as his girlfriend then and now she is Mrs. David Van Bebber for over a month now. We are all so pleased to have her and their children Jonathan, Violet and Evie as part of our church family as well as Brother David’s family!
The reading of the Word this morning was from the book of Daniel Ch. 3:19-29.
Today we were reminded by Brother David’s sermon to keep our faith and trust in God no matter how difficult it might be for us. Sha’-drach, Me’-shack and A-bed’-ne-go are pure examples of knowing the one true God. These young men in this awesome story of faith and trust can teach us there can be another person with us always.. Read in the book of Daniel about these men and what happened to them and see who showed up for them. Always remember that God is in control of every situation.
The Singspiration at Calhoun Methodist Church at 6 PM. on August 31st. was a really enjoyable time of worshiping the Lord in song with believers from Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Drakes Chapel Methodist Church, New Life Church, and Calhoun Baptist Church. Special Music by Brother Scott Brooks on the piano and his mother Sister, Kay Brooks singing two beautiful songs with Scott playing the piano for her. Also Sister Phyllis Richadrson and Sister Joyce Trollinger played the piano. Sister Verna Walters sang a beautiful Special Song. Also, Brother Joe Hall sang a Special song and played his Guitar. Brother Merian Pilant sang a Special Song representing the Drakes Chapel Methodist Church and he told two short stories. Groups from each church sang some of their favorite hymns.
Our Prayer concerns are for: Patti Merritt, Dan Henry, Andrew Frisbee, The Closing of New Testament Church in Kansas, Chris Wilson, Shirley Matteson, Gerald & Frances Barrow Connie Jones
