For more than twenty-five years, the Lord has given me the privilege of serving Him through pastoral ministry, Christian education, and hospice chaplaincy. Through each of these ministries, God has continually reminded us that ministry is ultimately about people—walking alongside them through seasons of joy, uncertainty, growth, and grief, while faithfully pointing them to Jesus Christ.
At the heart of my ministry is a deep love for God’s Word. I believe the Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word and that it provides the foundation for how we live, worship, serve, and grow. My desire is to faithfully preach and teach Scripture in a way that is biblically sound, Christ-centered, practical, and encouraging—helping believers understand God’s Word and equipping them to live out their faith every day.
While preaching and teaching are important parts of pastoral ministry, I believe some of the most meaningful ministry happens beyond the pulpit. I enjoy building relationships through visitation, discipleship, counseling, prayer, and involvement in the community. My years serving as a hospice chaplain have especially reminded me that ministry often takes place around kitchen tables, hospital bedsides, nursing homes, and family living rooms. Those moments have taught me that shepherding people requires both truth and compassion, and I consider it a privilege to walk with people through some of the most significant moments of their lives.
As a husband, father, educator, and pastor, I have a deep appreciation for the importance of strong families and healthy relationships. Calhoun Baptist Church is a place where every generation—from children to seniors—is welcomed, encouraged, discipled, and challenged to grow in Christ.
Ultimately, my desire is simple: to love God, love people, faithfully preach His Word, and help others grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
A healthy church is one that loves God deeply, loves one another genuinely, serves its community faithfully, and boldly shares the hope of the Gospel with its neighbors.
