Calhoun Baptist Church News, June 3, 2012~Rev. Jordan Hodges, Pastor,
The Sanctuary was full of worshipers this beautiful Sabbath day! All of these folks were in the house of God to worship the risen Christ and to express love and honor to the couple that has been our Pastors for close to three years. Pastor Jordan and Mrs. Hodges his help mate Mallory, with God’s guidance they have made a very big difference in how the congregation has gotten involved in all of the scheduled events each week. The attendance has grown in all of them with a Youth Group that has grown from a group of three or four to a sum of 20 or more each week! God has blessed us with two amazing young people who love the Lord and have made a promise to God to go where He leads them. So, with great reluctlance their flock will let them go where He leads them. We will hold them in our hearts like we do our own children, and as we do all of our good friends when they have to leave us as God leads them!
Brother Jordan’s Sermon today was the last in a series of Sermons about our Condition and God’s Standard for our lives to live by as we continue to serve Him as his children. We are all sinners in a lost world. Over 2,000 years ago God come to earth in the form of man who was yet fully God. He made a way that we can live forever with him. This man Jesus died on the cross for us. Even though we are not perfect we can be forgiven when we accept Him and turn from our selfish, sinful ways. Although we can not meet His standard because we can never be good enough, but we must be forgiven!
