Calhoun Baptist Church News July 8, 2012
Our song and film on the big screen this morning was “The Star Spangled Banner” and remembering our country and how it was,
and has been since what happened on 9-11-01.
The congregation sang Patriotic songs to honor our country as well as our God. They were “America the Beautiful, ‘My Country ‘Tis of Thee and ‘Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory. “
We were blessed today to have another man of God bring the message this morning. His name is Brother Daryl Sneed. He sang a song right at the beginning, even before he started his Sermon. The song was “It is Well With My Soul.”
He said , I have a word from the Lord for you today. He brought his message from the Bible in
2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV.But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of Him everywhere.He also spoke about how we can have victory in our lives through Jesus Christ. He called Romans Chapter 8 the Victory Chapter. What happens when God shows up and how we should find out what He is doing and get on board! Romans 8:38was another one of the key scriptures. Here Paul tells us how there is nothing that can separate us from Gods love.
Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God is with us at Calhoun Baptist Church. His Holy Spirit has been at work here and
several folks have accepted Jesus as their Savior and will be showing their faith by Water Baptism next Sunday.
