Our announcements were given by Bother Terry Barrow. There was only one couple to celebrate their wedding anniversary and no birthdays to celebrate this week.
The Contemporary song of praise on the big screen this morning was “Bless the Lord, O my Soul,” by Matt Redman.
Bottles of water are needed for the ministry at the Calhoun Colt Show, August 25th. and 26th. Come by to visit at the tent and pick up a bottle of water!
There will be Special Music @ 10:30 Sunday morning.
The Sunday School and Worship Services at the church are dismissed for the Community Church Services @11: A. M. at the Court House Yard. With a Carry-in-Meal to follow at Noon.
There will be a Christian Concert in the afternoon! Everyone is welcome to attend!
Our minister for the day was Brother Daryl Sneed who brought his sermon from the Book of Jeremiah Ch: 2- verses 7-11 & 13. Also from the 3rd. Ch: verse 13 KJV.
Jeremiah Ch: 2- verses 7-11 & 13.
7 I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and made my inheritance detestable. 8 The priests did not ask, ‘Where is the Lord?’ Those who deal with the law did not know me; the leaders rebelled against me. The prophets prophesied by Baal, following worthless idols. 9“Therefore I bring charges against you again,” declares the Lord. “And I will bring charges against your children’s children. 10 Cross over to the coasts of Cyprus and look, send to Kedar[a] and observe closely; see if there has ever been anything like this: 11 Has a nation ever changed its gods? (Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols.
Jeremiah 2:13 “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
Jeremiah 3:13- Only acknowledge your guilt–you have rebelled against the LORD your God, you have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every spreading tree, and have not obeyed me,'” declares the LORD.
This sermon was about getting the Glory back in our worshiping God.
If we are His we must be going around telling others about the Messiah John said “He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
I am known by the deeds that I do! ‘The question is “Are we Glorifying God?”
