Calhoun Baptist Church News July 21, 2013~

There was a wonderful Vacation Bible School this year with 75 enrolled and an average of 60-70 attending daily! The The Holy Spirit was with us, working through us as conduits for Gods love. The children learned more about Jesus and what it means to have Him as their Savior. There were 17 young people who come forward to profess their belief in Jesus as their Savior! We wish to thank Brother Brice Kristofferson, the Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church for serving as our Evangelist on Wednesday for our children. God is so good!
Our guest speaker this morning was Brother Kenneth Edmonsten. His lovely wife accompanied him. They are dear friends with our Pastor and we were so pleased to have them be here and for Brother Edmonsten to bring the Sunday morning Message to us. He shared the conversion of Saul with us and how important it is to keep the Command that Jesus gave us, the Great Commission to go into all of the world teaching about the Savior.
After Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, he was buried and resurrected on the third day. Before he ascended into heaven, he appeared to his disciples in Galilee and gave them these instructions:
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We will continue to pray for our Pastor’s recuperation from his injuries he incurred from his fall.
