Calhoun Baptist Church News July 28, 2013~
Rev. David Van Bebber Pastor:
Our worship services were opened by our Brother Terry Barrow with prayer and announcements for the month of August. We enjoyed the Contemporary Praise Song “Here I am to Worship”. Our song leader this morning was Sister Lorrie Rima our Assistant Worship Leader.
Our guest speaker this morning was Brother Tommy Goode and his wife, Sister Elaine attended with him. They have retired as Missionaries for the Southern Baptist Missions Board, mostly for North America in recent years. They have kind of retired and live at Sweet Springs MO. As their semi- retirement, they hold worship services 2 times monthly at a building where they hold “Cowboy Church”. This out reach is for those who do not seem to have a tendency to attend traditional church services.
Brother Goode brought his message based on the scriptures in these
verses, You will find them in the book John Ch. 14: 23 & 24 NIV.
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
We will continue to pray for our Pastor’s miraculous recovery from his fall two months ago. We are hoping and planning on hearing a message from God next Sunday, brought to us by our very own Pastor David!
