Calhoun Baptist Church News August 25, 2013~

The Calhoun Community Worship Services at Calhoun City Hall yard were well attended today being represented by the five different congregations. They are Mt. Olivet Baptist, Calhoun Methodist, Drakes Chapel Methodist, New Life and Calhoun Baptist. This year is the 28th. Annual Community Worship Services.
Invocation was given by Bro. David Van Bebber, the Children’s Church was held by Bro. Chris Aery and the Benediction was offered by Sister Margie Briggs. The offering plate was passed around with the Benevolent Offering to be given to Sonie Snider and her family to help make their home handicap ready for Sonie when she comes home from the Rehabilitation Facility.
Bro. Joe Hall brought the message this morning. His message was mainly about how we as God’s children should dwell on unity in our communities and work together as one Body of Christ.
Here is a scripture about unity. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV)
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
We continue to request special prayers for our Pastor David and all of those who are on our “Prayer Concerns List”.
