Calhoun Baptist Church News November 3, 2013~
Brother David welcomed everyone and made all of the announcements for the month of November.
The reading of the word was from Mark Ch.4:26-29 NASB.
The Parable of the Seed.
And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, he himself does not know. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
The expansion of the Gospel is not an act of humans. Salvation itself is an act beyond our capability. As our Spiritual growth is more noticeable to God than it is to other humans. God begins to change the hearts of those he has called to Salvation. The followers of Christ are commanded to be agents in the harvest work. The heart of the followers of Christ is given to seeing others come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Thought for this week: Do not be only a hearer but a doer of the Word.

“Harvester’s Food Bank” will be at Calhoun Colt Show Building – Friday November 8th. from 4:30 – 6:30 PM “This is free food. Volunteer workers are appreciated!
Monday November 11th. VETERANS DAY
Sunday November 24th. First Sunday of Advent
Sunday November 24th. “THANKSGIVING DINNER” AT NOON
Sunday November 24th. “Community Thanksgiving Services” at Calhoun Baptist Church at 7:00 PM
