Come celebrate the “Christmas Season” and worship the Lord with us here at Calhoun Baptist Church where you will always feel at home!
We have a Sunday School Class for each age group @ 10:00 AM
Worship Services @ 11 AM
Bible Study and Prayer Services @ 6:00 P.M.
Beginning in December RA’S are meeting Sundays @ 5 PM
Youth With Dave @ the Parsonage Saturdays from 7-8 PM

Once again it was so good to come into the house of the Lord to give thanks for Gods many blessings and petition Him with our Prayer Concerns and Praise His Holy Name!

Today we were so pleased to have Brother David’s sister, Sister Sarah Van Bebber visiting with us. It is always so good to be able to welcome new friends to worship with us! Today is the First Sunday of Advent Sister Sarah and Brother David read the reading and lighted the First Candle and ended with Prayer.

Brother David’s reading of the Word was from the Book of Luke Ch: 11: 5-19. NKJV
This sermon was about the Holy Spirit and how we can learn to pray in the Spirit.

When we do not know how to pray or have the right words, the Holy Spirit intervenes for us. Jesus taught us how to pray with the “Lords Prayer” you can find it in Luke Ch.11: 2-4. NKJV

 

Luke 11:2–4

2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

       Your will be done 

On earth as itis in heaven.

       Give us day by day our daily bread.

       And forgive us our sins,

For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.”

The Holiday Season is here and we are celebrating the Savior’s Birth!
Here are our upcoming events to look forward to attending and taking part in to celebrate this wonderful Season, after all “Jesus is the Reason for the Season!”

December 7th. Decorate the Church and have Chili and Soup @ 5:30 PM
Sunday December 8th. “Second Sunday of Advent” Lighting of the Candles
Bring your Poinsettias this morning to place on the Alter!
Give Sister Claudean Brown the name(s) of your loved one(s) you want to be honoring with your Poinsettia! There will be “Special Placing” by those who are participating.
Saturday December 14th. At 8 AM Brother Jim Bilbruck’s Breakfast Served for those helping Sack Candy and Fix Fruit Plates
Sunday, Dec, 15th. “Christmas Program” Performance in the AM & PM
December 24th. “Christmas Eve” Candle Light Services @ 6 PM
Sunday December 29th. “Singspiration @ Calhoun Baptist Church @ 6 PM
Tuesday December 31st. New Years Eve, “Watch Night”
