Our Pastor David has begun a new series of sermons from the book of Acts.
The first one is called “Jesus is alive. The Holy Spirit is God. So What?”
This first one is based upon the Acts 1:1-3
Acts 1:1-3 (NIV)
In his former book, Theophilus is the name or honorary title of the person to whom the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles are addressed. Luke wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. He was taken up into the heavens and disappeared the same way Elijah did and Jesus is coming back again. Until then God in the form of the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in the hearts of his believers and to guide and direct us as we do His work. There is a Kingdom for us to proclaim, UNTIL He RETURNS!
