Calhoun Baptist Church News September 21, 2014~

Oh what a wonderful thing it is to go into the house of the Lord on a bright, almost Autumn day! Brother David welcomed everyone. The Holy Spirit was welcomed as the Congregation sang the doxology, “Bless Be the Tie that Binds”. Birthdays and Anniversaries were recognized before we Praised God for our many blessings and so many answered prayers! There were some more prayer request added to our Prayer Concerns. Our Pastor David prays for each individual and so can we do the same. Our Heavenly Father is still in the business of answering our prayers. When we ask with faith and where two or more are gathered together believing in Jesus’ Name, He will hear and answer us.
The reading of the Word was from Acts 1:4-8 (NIV)
On one occasion, while Jesus was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water,but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
