The “Candlelight Service” on Christmas Eve was a beautiful and heart warming event to worship the Lord by lighting the last candle of the Advent Wreath celebrating with the anticipation of the coming of the Christ, our Lord Jesus! The sanctuary was so beautiful in the candle light and from the candles each person held in their hands.
The Danny Johnston family did the reading and lighting of the fourth candle and Brother Danny offered prayer, giving thanks for this wonderful season celebrating the birth of Christ.
This morning the reading of the Word was from Acts 2:37- 41.
In this scripture Peter was telling the people about Jesus. He told them that Jesus was the same one they had crucified and that God had made Him both Lord and Christ. Verse 38 states that Peter told every one of them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This promise was made for them and to us and as many as the Lord our God shall call.
