Church News – January 3rd

How Shall We Live? That was the title of the message brought to us Sunday morning from Pastor Mark Abney. He chose Romans 6:1-23 for his text. Because we have Christ we must go away from sin so that others may see Christ in us. We are no longer slaves to sin. We are new creations in Christ and should live our lives as such. How will you choose to live in this new year?

Prayer concerns this week are for Pat Kampe, J C Manley, Jerry Reiners and Randy Hargis’ family in the death of his mother, Vera. We remember in prayer those who have recently lost loved ones. Our hope is in knowing that God hears and answers every prayer.

Birthday greetings this week are for Elana Hollinger. We wish her a very happy birthday and blessed year.

Gospel Kid’s will resume again next Wednesday, January 8 as school will be finished with Christmas vacation. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Children ages kindergarten through sixth grades are welcome.

Celebrate Recovery continues Sunday evenings starting with supper at 5:30 pm followed by large group worship at 6:30 and small groups at 7:30 pm. Come see where God is at work.

This Saturday, January 4th we will take down and put away all Christmas decorations. Come to join in the fellowship and fun. Bring chili, soup or something to compliment these. We will enjoy the food after clean up is complete. Mark your calendar and plan on attending.

The door is always open for you to worship with us at Calhoun Baptist Church. Sunday School begins at 10:00 am with a class for every age then Worship follows at 11:00 am. Come join us in the work of Christ.
