Church News – April 3rd

As we continue to “social distance” our service was again closed to members but Pastor Mark Abney conducted a live service from the church.  He titled this week’s message Overcoming Fear.   The scripture text was Psalm 71.  When tough times come upon us we should put our focus on God.  Remember all the things God has done for you in your life – see how He has delivered you in the past.  Practice praise. The more we are rescued by God the more we should praise. We can dispel the darkness when we get our praise on!  We have hope in Jesus Christ. We do not have to fear our circumstances. Tell everyone about what the Lord has done for you. Testify to His greatness, praise His power, sing praises.  God comforts us in our trials and we should comfort others.

Please lift up in prayer our nation’s leaders and health care workers, those who have COVID 19, school children, teachers, and families.  Remember the Lord hears and answers our prayers.

Celebrate Recovery continues on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm via live stream on our church website.  Join in from the comfort of your home. Stay home and stay healthy.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and next is Easter Sunday.  We will worship together in a new way. Meet in our back parking lot both Sundays at 11:00 am for an outdoor service.  We will remain in our cars and hear the word of God from our pastor. In this way, we can maintain social distance and still greet one another with smiles and waves.

We encourage you to remain faithful with your offering or tithe.  Mail it to Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, Missouri 65323.
