Church News – April 24th

The drive-in church continues and the attendance is increasing.  We have been blessed with great weather for each service.  This Sunday Pastor Mark continued with his series on the parables of Jesus.  His message was titled Prodigal Son from Luke 15:11-32.  Jesus was telling the Pharisees they shouldn’t be complaining about him eating with sinners because we are all sinners in need of a savior.  The father represents God, the older son represents the Pharisees and the younger son represents sinners.  The Father knows that his children don’t always return to him with the right motives but God, the Father, forgives us and has love for us when we come to Him.  We, like the prodigal, like to run our own lives but when we come to God, he restores and rescues us.

Our prayers continue for our country’s leaders and health care workers, those who have COVID 19, school children, teachers, and families.  How grateful we are for a God that hears and answers our prayers.

Celebrate Recovery continues on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm with a drive-in service or via live stream on our church website.  Join in this new way to worship.

Drive-in service meets in our back parking lot at 11:00 am Sunday mornings.  We remain in our cars and hear the word of God from our pastor.  We maintain the social distance and still greet one another with smiles and waves.

We encourage you to remain faithful with your offering or tithe.  You may also mail it into Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, Missouri 65323.
