Church News – June 12th

Pastor Mark Abney brought the message Fear Is a Liar from Psalm 34.  We can always boast in the Lord.  David said he would “magnify” God.  When we magnify God we boast on Him and let others see how BIG our God is!  God wants to be magnified in our mountains and valleys.  We should not let our fears keep us from magnifying God.  Fear is of the devil but God overcomes evil.  Don’t let fear hold you back.  God always wins over evil.  Fear is a liar.

Please be diligent during your prayer time to pray for our health care workers, law enforcement, families in distress, and our country.  During these troublesome times, it is so reassuring to remember we serve a mighty God who is bigger than all our problems.

The fish fry was well attended and very much enjoyed.  We had an ample amount of delicious food to compliment the freshly fried fish.  We relaxed and listened to delightful music in the shade.  How good it was to once again fellowship.

Celebrate Recovery continues at 6:30 pm on Sunday evenings.  Everyone is invited.

Vacation Bible School this year will be held Monday through Wednesday night from 6:00  – 7:30 pm June 22nd -24th.   It will be more like a backyard bible club.  All activities will be held outside.  Children will enjoy bible stories, crafts, and games.  Yummy snacks will be served.  Plan on sending those kiddos.

We encourage you to remain faithful with your offering or tithe.  Bring it in person or mail it into Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, Missouri 65323.

You are invited to join us this Sunday morning at 10:00 am for Sunday School and Worship at 11:00 am.  Remember God is in control and He is greater than ANYTHING!
