Church News – June 19th

posted in: Church News | 0

A warm Sunday morning greeted us as we gathered for worship.  “Shall We Gather At the River” was our opening hymn.  Pastor Mark Abney chose Psalm 40 as his scripture text for the message Rescue Story.

Among our prayer concerns are young Naomi Grace, Caroline Wilson, Ashley Wheatley, Michael Parker, those folks sick with COVID 19, healthcare workers and emergency personnel, law enforcement, and our country.  During these troublesome times, it is important to remember God is ever near and present.  Let us call on Him for comfort and strength.

Happy birthday wishes to go out to Lori Abney and Lisa Baker June 12th, Ryan Mantonya June 14th, and Curtis Barrow June 15th.  We hope their day was special.

Vacation Bible School begins this Monday, June 22nd, and runs through Wednesday, June 24th.   The time is shortened this year, 6:00 – 7:30 pm, as it will be more like a backyard bible club.  All activities will be held outside.  Children will enjoy bible stories, crafts, and games.  Yummy snacks will be served.  Plan on sending those kiddos.

Celebrate Recovery continues at 5:30 pm on Sunday evenings with a light supper.  Then at 6:30 pm, large group worship starts followed by small groups at 7:30 pm.  Please feel free to come to see God at work.

We encourage you to remain faithful with your offering or tithe.  Bring it in person or mail it into Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, Missouri 65323.

You are invited to join us this Sunday morning at 10:00 am for Sunday School and Worship at 11:00 am.  Remember God is in control and He is greater than ANYTHING!
