Pastor Mark Abney brought the message An Effective Testimony using Mark 4:35-5:20 as the text.  A testimony is something we are supposed to have on our lips. As Christians, we have the best product around, Jesus Christ.  Don’t be ashamed to tell about your Savior.  Give your testimony on a regular basis to others.  Pastor Mark then allowed our congregation the opportunity to share what the Lord is doing or has done in our lives.  Several individuals shared testimonies and we all benefited from hearing them.

We ask you to keep in prayer Chad Price, Caroline Wilson, Ashley Wheatley, Pat Kampe, healthcare workers and emergency personnel, law enforcement, and our country’s leaders.  We are blessed to not only be able to approach the throne of grace with our prayers but to be confident in knowing that God hears our prayers and answers each one.

Our new ministry of live streaming the worship service continues.  Go to our Facebook page at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings to worship with us.  If you are unable to attend in person you will now be able to join us to worship in real-time.

Work continues on the new bell tower and steeple that was placed on the roof.  Our pastor, Mark Abney constructed the bell tower and is responsible for overseeing this project.  It is a great addition to the church building.  Soon it will be ready to receive the bells that will sound beautiful songs throughout our community.

Basic school supplies for the Calhoun R-VIII school children will be distributed Friday evening July 31st from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and then again Saturday morning August 1 from 9:00 – 12:00 noon in the church basement.  No students will be allowed to pick up the supplies so parents must come.

Celebrate Recovery continues at 5:30 pm on Sunday evenings with a light supper.  Then at 6:30 pm, large group worship starts followed by small groups at 7:30 pm.  The lesson last week was ADMIT.  Principle 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.  “Happy are the pure in heart.”  Matthew 5:8.  You are invited to be a part of this ministry.

We encourage you to remain faithful with your offering or tithe.  Bring it in person or mail it into Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, Missouri 65323.

Come join us this Sunday morning at 10:00 am for Sunday School and Worship at 11:00 am.  You will be most welcome.
