Church News – April 2nd 2021

Pastor Mark Abney brought the message Behold, The Lamb of God on a beautiful Palm Sunday morning.  John 1:29 was his text.  Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God, without blemish.  God sent Him to pay the price for our sins through the shedding of his blood.  Jesus’ death does not save you – it is through His blood we find forgiveness.  Have you found His forgiveness?

On our prayer list this week we have Kay Pogue, Hoss Rima, Pat Kampe, and Chad Price.   Please keep these people in your thoughts during your prayer time.

Easter Sunday we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper and collect a benevolent offering.  It is also that time of year when we remember our North American Missionaries with the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  We will be collecting this offering throughout the month of April.  Please pray about what the Lord would have you give to support the spreading of the gospel in North America.

Celebrate Recovery continues each Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm with dinner.  At 6:30 pm worship begins followed by small groups at 7:30.  The lesson last week was about accountability partners and sponsors.  Lamentations 3:40 says “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.”.  Come check out CR and leave your hurts, hang-ups, and habits behind.

Drive-in, inside, and live streaming of our worship service is available.  To hear the worship service within the city limits tune your radio dial to 93.1 FM.  Live streaming of our service begins at 11:00 am.   Check it out by going to our Facebook page and you can worship with us in real-time.  Pastor Mark’s sermon is also available as a podcast on our website.

We hope that you will continue to support the church with your tithes and offerings during this difficult time.  If you are unable to come in person, please mail your offerings to Calhoun Baptist Church, PO Box 33, Calhoun, MO 65323.

Come join us for Sunday School beginning at 10:00 am and Worship at 11:00 am.  We look forward to greeting you.
