Church News – June 18th 2021

Continuing in the book of Romans 2:25 – 3:18, Pastor Mark Abney delivered the message Inside Out.  Since Jesus came we have an external indication of what has happened on the inside;  it’s called baptism.  Going to church, giving an offering, doing good things, etc. will not get us into heaven.  Only confessing Jesus as Savior will make an internal change.  If you haven’t done that, external things mean nothing at all.  A changed heart is on the inside and the evidence will be clear to everyone on the outside.  Trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only way to heaven.

We wish a very happy birthday to Lori Abney and Lisa Baker (twin sisters) who celebrated their special day June 12 and Curtis Barrow who celebrated on June 15.

Prayer concerns this week include Hoss Rima, Phyllis Richardson, Don Gregory, Dalton Creach, Janet Taylor, John Young, and Jason. Thank you, Lord, for hearing and answering our prayers.

Celebrate Recovery continues on Sunday evenings with dinner served at 5:30 pm followed by worship at 6:30 pm.  Small group support begins at 7:30.  Come to CR;  fellowship,  make new friends, and help strengthen your resolve to live a victorious life.

Make plans now for Vacation Bible School. This year there will be classes for preschoolers through adults.  What a great experience this will be for the entire family.  Mark it down on your busy summer calendar for Monday, August 2 through Friday, August 6.  Come enjoy food, bible stories, and fellowship.  Let’s learn and grow in the Lord together.
